This page contains the online worship information for Sunday, May 17, 2020 for Crown of Life Lutheran Church. Pastor Strey sent the following email message to Crown of Life’s members on May 16, with information about the different approach we’re taking for this weekend’s worship video.
Dear Crown of Life members,
This weekend appears to be our last “online worship only” weekend at Crown of Life. Assuming no change in circumstances, we will resume public services on Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 24 at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. All of these services will be identical and will celebrate the Ascension of our Lord — a festive occasion for us to commemorate as we resume worshiping together. We will also continue to offer an online worship option for those who are unable to join us at this time.
I’m offering a different approach to our service this weekend. Knowing that our video capabilities at Crown of Life are fairly simple right now, I thought I would share a video of a more complete service. This video comes from six years ago at the congregation I previously served. The service is for the same Sunday of the Church Year that we are celebrating this weekend, with most of the same worship content as we would have had here if public worship was being offered. I am the preacher and presiding minister in the service. I hope this different approach to online worship will be enjoyable for our members.
This link will open a file in your web browser that includes everything you need to know for following this weekend’s service — some background information, the link to the video, and a complete order of worship.
May our risen and ascended Lord Jesus keep you safe in his care!
Blessings in Christ,
Here is the video for this weekend. Please open this link to follow the complete order of worship for the video (the service itself begins on page 3 of the file). You may also follow the sermon manuscript.Sixth Sunday of Easter — Sunday, May 25, 2014 — St. Mark’s Lutheran on Vimeo
